Frayhua Reviews: Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation Review

Another lame movie tie-in

Style: Third Person Shooter (2- player co-op)
System: Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC
Publisher: Equity Games and Evolved Games
Developer: GRIN
Release Date: May 19, 2009
ESRB Rating: M

Story- The story takes place two years before the events of Terminator Salvation of how John Conner became a resistance leader.

Presentation

Graphics- They look decent, but the cutscene graphics are watered down a bit and are no interesting to watch because of boring characters.

Sound- The voice acting is bad and annoying an even though they got Common and Moon Bloodgood to voice their characters from the movie. I guess Christian Bale didn’t want to voice John Conner because of that tirade on the set of Terminator Salvation. The sound effects are ok. The only thing right is the Terminator theme and that’s it.

Gameplay

The gameplay is your standard third person shooter. The cover system is similar to Wanted: Weapons of Fate another game developed by GRIN. Perhaps that the only good feature of gameplay because your allies don’t help at all, three main types of enemies: T-600s, T-70, and Aerostats, can’t go out in the open even though your going to another way to flank enemies and you fall the mission, no collectables or opposite paths, incredibly frustrating health system that only works when you kill the enemies.

Entertainment- What a lame game? It gets better because this game has high achievement and trophy scores after you complete any mission and is short for about 5 hours. After that there is no reason to play this game again.

Overview

- So- So Presentation
- Weak story
- Boring gameplay
- Bad Value at $60
